Privacy Policy

ParishSports (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”) is a crowdsourced, real-time sports scoreboard for local high school, club, and recreational sports in South Louisiana. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. If you sign up with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
• Content you submit. Scores, status updates, game details, confirmations, team-follow selections, and any team or organization requests you send us.
• Notification data. If you enable push notifications, we store the push subscription your browser provides so we can deliver alerts for teams you follow.
• Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as your browser type and interactions with the Service, used to operate and improve it.

• Operate the Service — display scores, run the crowdsourced verification system, and maintain your account and trust level.
• Send notifications you have opted into for teams and games you follow.
• Attribute score reports and confirmations to your display name so the community can gauge reliability.
• Protect the Service against abuse, spam, and inaccurate reporting.
• Communicate with you about your account or material changes to the Service.

ParishSports is a community scoreboard. Your display name, the scores and updates you submit, and your reporter trust level are visible to other users alongside the games you contribute to. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your display name or in game notes.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service — including our hosting and database provider (Supabase) and our application host (Vercel) — and when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the Service.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at privacy@parishsports.com. Note that scores and updates already contributed to the public record may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of game histories.

The Service covers school and youth sports and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users between 13 and the age of majority should review this policy with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated in the app.
